U.S. Arrests Suspect Linked to Fertility Clinic Bombing

Federal agents arrested Daniel Park on Tuesday for aiding a deadly bombing in California last month.
Park allegedly supplied chemicals and collaborated with bomber Guy Edward Bartkus months before the explosion.
Officials said Park helped experiment with explosives in Bartkus’ garage in Twentynine Palms.
Bartkus died in the 17 May blast that damaged a Palm Springs fertility clinic and nearby buildings.

Park Stockpiled Explosives, Met Bomber Through Online Forum

The FBI says Park began buying ammonium nitrate in October 2022.
He continued purchasing the chemical until just days before the attack.
In January, Park shipped 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate to Bartkus.
He bought another 90 pounds that arrived shortly before the explosion.
Authorities found bomb-making instructions at Park’s home near Seattle.
The guide resembled the method used in the Oklahoma City bombing.
Park and Bartkus met on anti-natalist forums and bonded over shared beliefs.
They opposed human reproduction and sought ways to spread that message.

Extremist Ideology Targeted Reproductive Health Center

The FBI confirmed Bartkus deliberately targeted the American Reproductive Centres in Palm Springs.
The clinic offers fertility evaluations and in vitro fertilisation services.
Authorities said Bartkus tried to livestream the attack but failed.
Investigators have not confirmed whether Bartkus intended to kill himself.
Park previously posted anti-natalist content online for nearly a decade.
In 2016, he encouraged others to join his cause and promoted death as a solution.
In March, Park tried to organize protests in Washington but received no public responses.

Arrest, Extradition, and Federal Court Appearance

Park fled to Poland four days after the bombing.
U.S. officials tracked him down and secured his extradition.
Authorities arrested him Tuesday at JFK Airport in New York.
He appeared before a federal judge in Brooklyn the following day.
FBI agent Akil Davis emphasized Park’s critical role in planning and preparation.
Authorities now treat the attack as a domestic terrorism case.
