Nvidia announced at the COMPUTEX 2025 event that it will build Taiwan’s first AI-focused supercomputer. The project involves partnerships with Foxconn, TSMC, and the Taiwanese government. The supercomputer aims to create a new AI hub in southern Taiwan to support local startups and researchers.

The new AI system will increase computing power and help develop a strong AI ecosystem across Taiwan. This effort is expected to drive innovation and support the country’s growing technology industry. Taiwan is already known for its role in global tech manufacturing, and the project will strengthen its position in AI development.

Nvidia’s CEO said the company is shifting its focus from being a tech company to becoming a leader in AI infrastructure. He explained that future global systems will rely more on intelligence and AI than on traditional electricity-based technologies. Nvidia plans to track productivity by measuring digital tokens produced by AI systems.

AI agents will be used to address global labour shortages and work alongside human teams. Nvidia’s engineers already use AI agents to improve efficiency and manage daily tasks. Future workers will need tools to train and oversee these AI agents to maintain productivity.

The company also expects AI systems to generate and trade digital tokens, similar to cryptocurrencies. This could create a multi-trillion-dollar economy based on AI infrastructure in the coming years.

To support its growing AI teams, Nvidia will open a new Taiwan office named Nvidia Constellation. Construction will start soon, but no specific date was given. The new office will accommodate engineers working on AI projects.

Jensen Huang, who grew up in Taiwan, noted his long connection to the country and to COMPUTEX. Nvidia’s commitment to Taiwan’s AI future shows the country’s growing importance in the global AI revolution.
