Passenger Clings to Train After Missing Boarding

A Hungarian man narrowly escaped harm after clinging to a high-speed train traveling at 282 kilometers per hour. The 40-year-old had stepped off the train at Ingolstadt station for a cigarette but realized too late that he had left his luggage onboard.

Desperate Ride Ends Safely

In a bid to retrieve his belongings, the man jumped onto the connector plates between two carriages as the train departed. Eyewitnesses were shocked to see him gripping the exterior as the train sped through the German countryside in the winter cold. Authorities were alerted, and the train made an unscheduled stop 30 kilometers later at a minor station, where the man disembarked unscathed.

Arrest and Charges Follow

A police officer onboard detained the man, who was handed over to local authorities at Kinding station. He now faces charges, including fare evasion and reckless endangerment. Rail officials condemned the act, stressing the grave risks involved and reiterating the importance of adhering to safety regulations.
